The McQueen Lake Environmental Centre is available for public use. As the 'conditions' section explains however, there are certain restrictions. Generally speaking, the centre is available for groups, organizations, and for individuals so long as they meet the insurance and site use policy requirements. Typically, the centre is available for weekend use during the school year, and at various times during July and August.
Review this page to ensure that your group qualifies to use the site.
Contact the McQueen Lake office (see bottom of page) to determine whether the time you would like to book the centre is available, and to discuss fees.
Obtain $2,000,000 liability insurance for your group listing School District 73 as an additional insured. This must be presented when you pick up the keys. For an economical and convenient source of this insurance, we highly recommend Sport BC Insurance. Call them toll free at 1-877-992-2288.
Make arrangements with the caretaker to have a pre-trip site orientation done with the main contact for the group. Contact information will be provided.

Return the keys and report any concerns, or particulars regarding the facility.
It is a condition of the School District No. 73 insurance coverage that all commercial and formally organized service groups (including churches, non-profit societies and associations and community recreation groups) must provide a minimum of $2 million comprehensive general liability insurance per occurrence, naming the School District as an additional insured. A copy of the insurance is to be forwarded to the McQueen Lake Office.
