McQueen Lake

Opportunities for Other Districts
McQueen Lake is a great place to take your class!
We are now accepting bookings for next year.
Check out the dates below...
$15/Individual/Night is what we charge for use of the facility.
$5/person for the use of x-country skis and/or snowshoes during the trip.
** Cheques should be made out to Henry Grube Education Centre **
As the facility is rented out to other groups as well, you would first need to check with us for availability. The rest of the booking process would be identical, with the following exceptions:
You would need to have a pre-trip on-site orientation, as the caretaker is not usually on site during the weekend.
There wouldn't be a resource teacher available on weekends.
Arrangementswould have to be made for you to pick up the keys to the site if you were arriving after the caretaker leaves on Friday.
Please call us first (see bottom) to discuss the goals you have for your class etc.
After we have agreed on arrangements, you will be sent an email with a registration form link to fill out and submit.
The McQueen Lake facility offers an incredible opportunity to learn about the environment, within diverse and beautiful surroundings.
The rustic yet comfortable nature of the facility, along with its proximity to Kamloops (16.5 km), make it a wonderful place for groups to focus on self-reliance, cooperation, and team-building without comprimising safety and security.
You will have on-site support with general operations from the caretaker and assistance with on-site curriculum from the McQueen Lake Resource Teacher.
From night-hikes and owl calling to x-country skiing, and pond, orienteering, survival, ecology, classification, forestry, activities, you will find that the centre provides limitless opportunities to learn and have fun with your class.
Virtually all of the questions you will have apply to use within our own district, so please visit our District Use page for more information and access to planning and curriculum resources.
Please feel free to contact us with any further questions you may have by using the links at the bottom of the page.
